2014 – May – 10th Spring Flower Show and Social Tea

Judge, Maureen Naylor and Student Judge, Carole Bell judged our May flower Show.
Unlike last year we had an abundance of narcissus (daffodils) and not a lot of tulips – seeing that the weather this spring has been unseasonable cold – still we had 88 exhibits and 12 exhibitors.
Judging started promptly at 11 a.m. and a social tea and a light lunch ($5.00) was served at 12 noon.
The Flower Show Committee with Mona Rea as Acting Chair did a superb job setting up and working the flower show. Mona is also responsible for taking the following photos.

3-2014-05-104 Lucy Valente, Betty Lou Flear and Ruth Matchett (top left) were in charge of setting up the Tea Party. Notice the exquisite tea cups compliments of Lucy.

5-2014-05-106Mona Rea was jumping with joy when she learned she had won the King Alfred Daffodil Award – she said she had been wanting to win it since she joined the society in 1994. Congratulations Mona, your patience is commendable!
