Our 2016 Fall Flower and Vegetable Show was held on Saturday, September 10 with exhibitors coming in from 9.30 to 11.00 a.m. at which time our Judge, Claudette Smith started judging our show. 8 exhibitors brought in 110 entries.
The Public was invited to show up at 12.00 noon when we served Tea and a Light Lunch at a cost of $5.00 per person.
Jenni Murrell won the Award and Gift Certificate for entering the one and only ‘Largest Spanish Onion’ – what happened to the two flats of onions sold to members at the May 9th General Meeting???????
Unfortunately the Award for the ‘Best Gladiola’ was not given out this year as only Bob Murrell placing 1st and Jenni Murrell placing 2nd entered this category
Eveline Teras won 1st and ‘Best in Show’ with her ‘Harvest Medley’, a design using vegetables, fruits and flowers and Marilyn Elliott won ‘Best in Show’ in horticulture with her beautiful Black Dahlia .
Jenni Murrell won 1st and ‘Judge’s Choice’ with both her design ‘Nature’s Palette’, a foliage design and in horticulture with her Dark Purple Calla Lily.

Instead of writing notes our Judge, Claudette Smith explained to everybody present why she had judged the designs the way she did
Our well-stocked snack table served with coffee and tea in fancy cups and saucers was enjoyed by everybody.
