Lilacs are the topic with Dugald Cameron, an expert gardener who owned and ran Gardenimports, a business he started to obtain quality bulbs and plants. Dugald closed down his business a few years ago, but thankfully he continues to do speaking engagements.

Bring in entries from 9.30 – 11.00 a.m.  Judging starts promptly at 11.00
Entries may not be removed before 1.30 p.m.

Open to the public from 12 noon when tea and a light lunch will be served at a cost of $7.00 per person.

‘Low Maintenance Gardening’s is this evenings topic. Dan Cooper is a Master Gardener and co-authored ‘Gardening From A Hammock’. Make your garden work for you, not the other way around. Dan is an avid traveller and has written about his times viewing gardens in North and South America, China and India.

– Annual Plant, Tailgate, Bake Sale & B.B.Q. at the South Innisfil Arboretum –
The Arboretum is located on 1474 Shore Acres Drive and the 20th Sideroad in Gilford.
We are looking for donations of garden plants and home baking.

Miriam Goldberger of Wildflower Farm will speak about her book ‘Taming Wildflowers’, which is the result of 25 years of growing wildflowers. Start them from seed, identify seedlings and learn how to include wildflowers in any garden. Wildflower Farm is located at 10195 Hwy. 12 in Coldwater. It is a source of non-gmo seeds and grasses.

– General Meeting at Churchill Community Centre –
David Phillips, CM, is a senior climatologist for Environment Canada and spokesperson for the Meteorological Service of Canada and author. You most likely have seen him on television. He studies climate and promotes awareness and understanding of weather and climate in Canada. Davis is an engaging speaker and will talk about climate change, a topic on everyones mind these days.
Don’t forget our Fall Flower and Vegetable Show and Tea this coming Saturday. Have your specimens in between 9.30 and 11 a.m.  Cost for Tea is $7.00 per person.

Paul Zammit is back!
He is enthusiastically offering a wealth of information that will make a gardener out of anyone! Paul is director of the Toronto Botanical Garden. He will be speaking on and demonstrating container planting. One will be awarded as a door prize.
